Here comes my question: What is faith? Faith can be very strong, or very weak. We cannot rely on faith to win everything, but we can count on faith to hold to the end. It is apparent that David has a faith. The faith is hope, and hope came from his son. However, his hope faded away because of his immense despair. The answer is we should have a strong faith to help us walk through darkness and keep things right. Without true faith, any of those good characters will collapse.

To me, faith comes from confidence. I used to be pessimistic, with extreme caution when doing everything. Rooted in mind, I was fearful of making mistakes, because my elders placed their greatest expectation on me. The first time I participated in an English speech competition, I did not tell the message to anyone, even my parents, because I am afraid of failure. Before the competition, I wrote the speech draft and recited it alone every day. When I was not sure about a word pronunciation and speech tone, I will ask the teacher. I hope I can make the speech perfect. In the speech, I was the only contestant that didn’t invite friends and relatives for encouragement. Due to my full preparation, I won the second prize in this competition. At this time, I have the courage to tell my parents that I have joined in the competition and won the second prize.
