The vigorous growth of e-business during the past 20 years and the worldwide booming E-retailing has triggered the increasingly important analysis of online shopping determinants and motivations related to online customers experience. For the purpose of facilitating e-retailer setting effective marketing strategies and promoting the development of online shopping market, the analysis of online shopping and consumer behavior are badly in need (Jobber & Fahy, 2003).
Methodology is about selecting the most appropriate research methods to organize the theoretical and practical activity and also achieve the aims and expected outcomes (Amaratunga, 2002). After presenting the factor affecting online consumer behavior in the literature review, this report focus on the process of testing my data gathering method related to the topic. Accordingly, several questions have derived from the previous literature review, which need to be addressed via the empirical study which is associated with respondent’s online shopping experience. By doing it, factors which influence online consumer behavior such as experience of e-commerce use, reasons of shopping online, consumer concern in online shopping (e.g. trust factor, shipping of goods, feedback and refund policy etc.) and consumer characteristics will be derived. The main purpose of the survey was to collect data about online purchasing behavior in China and find the key factors affecting consumer behavior in an online shopping context.

In this report, each question’s result has been analyzed thoroughly and several findings from analysis have been fully explained. Basically, the data gathered by questionnaire are used in Excel to generate different tables and charts to present abstract numbers in a simple way to examine. Even though there are some useful findings in this paper, this study still contains several limitations, which could be solved in the further studies.
First of all, the findings of the survey could be limited by the size of sample. Because the amount of valid questionnaire is 26, which are not enough to generate proper results. Moreover, most of respondents in this paper are students or who just graduate, so they may not be representative enough to the research topic. In other words, students’ view could not comprehensively represent the individual perspectives in China, as there are many other occupations in China. In order to address these limitations, large sample size and respondent doing different jobs should chosen in the further study. Then, only one method (questionnaire) could not be enough to study online consumer behavior in China. Because consumer behavior is a very complex concept, in the future, more methods, like interview, case study could be adopted in the study.

In the report, it simply uses the data gathered by questionnaire in Excel to create different tables and charts to give abstract numbers for testing.
