A Brief Analysis of Chinese Gender Language

Abstract: Advanced by Western gender linguistics, China’s study on Chinese gender language has sprung up and developed rapidly in recent years although it started late. For a long time, the study puts particular emphasis on the difference in gender language. With the development of society, various social relations such as economy, politics, culture and social status of men and women have altered accordingly, and the phenomenon of gender convergence has become a new hot spot of gender linguistics. However, the gender convergence in Chinese is closely related to the factor of context and presents the characteristic of men’s language for communication going to approach women’s language. On the basis of reviewing the development of Chinese gender linguistics in China, this paper will emphatically discuss the present phenomenon of Chinese gender convergence.
