The continuous march of globalization has given an impetus to more frequent and more in-depth exchange among various countries in diverse areas. Attracted by cheap travel and low-cost shopping, a growing number of Indian tourists have begun to choose China as one destination for going travelling abroad, shopping and studying. This practice report is based on the author’s escort interpreting for the staff members of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC Limited) during their visit to the Great Wall in Beijing on October 14, 2014. As a variety of English, Hinglish (Hindi English) has formed a series of distinctive traits in many different aspects, such as pronunciation, vocabulary, syntax and rhetorical mode. In intercultural communication, efforts should be made to getting more effective input at ordinary times in order to break language barriers. This practice report is to analyze the interpretation process in detail and summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the interpreting practice after the end of the interpreting task.
