大家上午好,我这里讨论的题目是:中西医思维方式的区别。

我们在这学期进行了中英文化思维方式的比较学习，进一步认识到，东方和西方在文化和思维方式上存在很大的区别。

在医学领域，中医和西医之间同样存在着不同。那么，二者的根本区别源于哪里呢?我们认为，是源于思维方式的差异。

大家知道，中医的思维方式是基于直觉，是概括而形成的归纳思维;而西医是基于假设，是证明而形成的推理思维。

深而究之，这两种思维方式的分野又基于两种传统的哲学观念。

我们来看：中医思维方式基于先秦哲学，西医思维方式基于古希腊哲学。二者在本体论(Ontology)上恰恰相反。

那么，由“无”产生的结果是什么呢?古人认为，无生有，道生万物，天人合一，因此强调整体、追求归纳。

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, the topic of my speech today is the ideological difference between Chinese Herbal Medicine and its Western counterpart.

In this semester, we have learned a comparative study between Chinese and Western modes of thinking, and have had a deeper understanding of their enormous distinction.

This distinction also presents itself in the medical field. The question is what is the root of such difference. We believe it is due to the ideological contrast.

It is widely received that the thinking mode of Chinese Herbal Medicine is intuition-based, and is cultivated through inductive generalization, whereas in Western Medicine it is derived from hypothesis, thus the western thinking mode is of logical reasoning through test and proving.

If we go further, we can see their difference are rooted in their particular philosophical tradition.

We believe the thinking modes of Chinese Herbal Medicine and Western Medicine are based respectively on the philosophy of Pre-Qin Period and that of Ancient Greece, the ontology of which totally differ from each other, in that the former emphasizes on “non-being” and the latter, in contrast, promote the notion of “being”.

Then what was resulted from the Chinese non-being thoughts? Ancient Chinese held the concept that ”The non-being begets the being, Tao begets everything in the world, thus Heaven and Man combine into an integral whole”. From this we can see integrity and induction are what they pursue.
